PUBLIC TRANSPORT – A Train and Bus service is available from Gloucester, Newport and Chepstow, to Lydney where you will need to arrange a Taxi to Stone Cottage Whitehaven, St Swithins Road, Oldcroft, GL15 4NF (Between Viney Hill and Yorkley).

THE PROPERTY – Built of forest stone under a tiled roof, has been substantially extended to provide 6 bedrooms, (1 on the ground floor, with en-suite shower & W.C). There is also a heated swimming pool within a substantial log cabin pool house and a separate heated dining pavilion for year round use. The property is not suitable for wheel chair access as there are steps to negotiate when accessing the property.
LOCATION – The property is located approx 500 meters down St Swithins Road, which is the turning by Viney St Swithins Football & Social club, between Viney Hill and Yorkley.
ON-SITE PARKING - Parking is limited to six vehicles and the entrance to the car park can be found on the right just beyond the main house. Double gates protect the parking area from unauthorised access and should be kept shut except when accessing the car park. There is limited parking by the main gates for deliveries and owner use.
ACCESS TO THE MAIN HOUSE is from the paved parking area and foot path leading from the car park and main gate to the house. There are steps, or a downward slope leading to the two entrances. Both entrances have a step up to enter the property, requiring mobility or assistance. Not suitable for wheel chair access.
LUGGAGE – The house is approx 20 metres from the car park and there is a flight of stairs to the first floor bedrooms.
ENTRANCE TO HOUSE - from the parking area to the house, there steps, or a downward slope to negotiate, however both entrances are elevated by a 3-4 inch step leading into the Utility room and Kitchen/Diner. The entrance to the kitchen diner is approx 90 cm wide with additional 40 cm locked section.
BEDROOM ACCOMMODATION – There is one bedroom on the ground floor, all other bedrooms are located on the first floor and can only be accessed via the 12 stairs to the first floor.
WET ENTRANCE, BOOT ROOM – Rear entrance to utility area with coat hanging and wet boot area, a condenser drier and table football, leading to:
UTILITY ROOM – Laundry area with sink unit, washing machine and 2nd dishwasher, leading to:
KITCHEN – Interlocking tile effect floor, the stove/cooker has a gas hob with two electric ovens and grill. Other appliances include – upright fridge/freezer, microwave, inbuilt fridge & dishwasher, toaster and cordless kettles.
KITCHEN/DINER – Through the kitchen to the adjoining dining area, with continued interlocking tile effect floor and light oak tables and leather covered chairs, connecting to:
GAMES ROOM - Oak flooring, with pool table, bookcase and access to stairs, lounge areas, downstairs W/C and ground floor bedroom.
FRONT LOUNGE – is accessed from the games room, with optional tilt or side opening window, which can be used as an exit in case of emergency. In addition there is a large 4 pane floor to ceiling fixed frame (non opening) window with views to the large garden area. Externally, there is a step of approx 3 – 4 inches the width of the large window. The room has oak flooring, with wood burner, TV, bookcase and 2 sofas.
REAR LOUNGE – is also accessed from the games room and provides access to the ground floor bedroom. This room has oak flooring, TV and 2 sofas.
GROUND FLOOR BEDROOM - The ground floor bedroom is accessed through the kitchen/diner and lounge areas, to the rear of the property. The bedroom and bed can be configured as a super king double or 2 singles and has an en-suite w/c & shower room. However, access is limited and not suitable for wheel chair access.
STAIRS TO FIRST FLOOR - There are 12 steps to the first floor landing providing access to 5 bedrooms, including the master bedroom.
MASTER BEDROOM – Fitted wardrobes, super king double bed and en-suite WC with shower.
BEDROOMS 2 & 3 – Have shared (Jack & Jill) bathroom with shower. One has king sized bed and the other a super king.
BEDROOMS 4 & 5 – Both bedrooms have their own en-suite shower/WC.
Bathrooms – Bedrooms 2&3 have shared en-suite facilities, all other bedrooms have their own en-suite shower/WC.
MOBILE PHONES - Reception in the Forest area is patchy. However, Vodaphone, O2 and T-Mobile are accessible outside and in various areas of the house.
PETS – Pets by prior arrangement – bookable under extras within your booking
SERVICE DOGS – can be accommodated, but only with prior agreement with the property owners. Access must be restricted to non carpeted ground floor areas only. Any additional cleaning costs needed to ensure the welfare of other guest’s will be chargeable.
